Bio-Mech Tattoos

Bad-Ass Bio-Mech Tattoos

By their very nature these are tattoos that have an intricate fusing of sci-fi styling with elements of living biology. These tattoos are a look into the mind of the creator and wearer; they see the possibilities of the world as far more complicated and interrelated than most people.

Bio-Mech is short for Bio-Mechanical, a style of artwork traced back to the famed Swiss artist H.R. Giger, who found international acclaim after designing the original Alien for the Alien series of movies. Giger was friends with Salvador Dali and sadly, passed away recently.

Branching off of Giger’s work but evolving it and making it their own, Guy Aitchison and Aaron Cain exploded onto the tattoo scene in the late 80s/early 90s and have each inspired countless adepts and imitators. Guy’s work is shown below, Aaron Cain no longer tattoos but focuses full time on building tattoo machines. Here’s a few tattoos by Aaron, whom many consider the king of bio.

This rest of this particular collection includes works from some of our favorite bio-mech artists.

Markus Lenhard is one our favorite artists in this genre. He’s in Berlin, Germany, though he does travel from time to time to the US and elsewhere. His Site is http://www.luxaltera.com/en/ — check him out and follow for some amazing tattoos. Markus works digitally for the designing stages, using a Wacom Cintiq, and his work really encompasses as much organic as metal elements. One of the best!

This next tattoo is the work of Boris from Hungary. Boris’ tattoos contain a variety of styles and include a number of tattoos that are designed out of the imagination and fantasy. His work has such precision that it seems like the tattoo is not added to the body but rather a natural occurring event on the skin.
